Jenny’s Journal

Good Monday morning!  (As good as it can be on a Monday, right?!)  Hope you had a fantastic weekend.  I was so excited to participate for the first time as a new member in the Krewe of Iduna on Saturday for their Mardi Gras ball.  It was so much fun!  Laissez les bon temps rouler – as they say!  Best of all, I got to hang out with family and friends and actually got a lot done at my house… so all in all, it was a very productive, very busy weekend.  Not too much going on this week – but make sure to check out your “Community Calendar” for any events that you may want to attend.  Have a great week!

Jenny’s Journal

I woke up this morning and my stomach was in knots.  The reason, you may ask?  Tonight’s showdown between LSU and Alabama!  Like many of you, I am so excited for the game – but at the same time, I’m so nervous for our team.  I want so badly for them to accomplish the win.  Isn’t it funny that a football game can wreak havoc on our emotions and even our physical states?  I have such a sense of pride for LSU because not only am I an alumna of the university, but so is a long line of my family.  The first time my parents introduced me to LSU, I was only a baby.  And the first time I stepped foot on that campus as a student, I had to fight back the tears of pride.  As I walked by those stately oaks and broad magnolias, on my way to shady, inspiring halls, I thought about all of my family members who walked those same paths and how those collegiate experiences at that university shaped who they were and who they were to become.  I love my alma mater and I’m so proud to say that I’m an LSU Tiger – from birth!  So, today, as the student athletes from my beloved alma mater are preparing for what could be the biggest football matchup in their collegiate years, I truly mean it when I say, with fervor, GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!

Jenny’s Journal

Good Monday morning to you!  What a weekend it was!!  Visited with a dear friend who’s in town for the holidays on Friday night.  Then, on Saturday, I danced in the Nutcracker Ballet with the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre.  It was a beautiful show!  Then, yesterday, I co-hosted my best friend’s bridal shower – truly fun yet sentimental occasion.  I can’t believe how fast time has flown by.  Then, last night, I went to New Orleans for my other best friend’s bridal party scavenger hunt.  Yes, you read that correctly!  We were divided up into two teams and guess what!  The team I was on won!!!  I can get pretty competitive sometimes.  Hope you enjoyed your weekend.  I love the week before Christmas:  there’s so much excitement in the air and everyone is anticipating the big day!  Hope you and your families are enjoying time together.  Take lots of pictures and remember these special times.
